Appointment of Chris Salisbury as Managing Director at Rössing Uranium Limited
(10 August 2011)

Rössing Uranium Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Chris Salisbury as the company's new Managing Director.

Mr Salisbury is a Metallurgical Engineer from Australia with over 23 years of extensive experience in leadership roles within various Rio Tinto managed sites, inclusive of the Aluminium and Energy Product Groups. He gained experience of the uranium industry in particular from his various roles at Rio Tinto's Australian uranium mine, Energy Resources of Australia.

His appointment at Rössing Uranium is with effect from 1 June 2011.

Mr Salisbury succeeds Mr Mike Leech, who has successfully led the company for the past seven years during a period of turbulence and growth in the uranium industry.

This change in leadership is the culmination of an orderly succession plan. Mr Leech continues to support Rio Tinto in his new role of Special Advisor: Namibia, until his actual retirement date in November 2011.

Rössing Uranium applauds Mr Leech for his extensive contribution towards Rössing and the Namibian uranium sector, through his tenure as the President of the Chamber of Mines of Namibia.

As one of the largest uranium mines in the world, Rio Tinto Rössing Uranium is set to continue to supply the world nuclear industry with uranium oxide, while continuing to be an innovative supplier of a clean, environmentally friendly energy source to approved electricity generators worldwide.
