New General Manager Operations Joins Rössing Mine

Rössing Uranium Mine announces that David Salisbury joined the Company as General Manager Operations with effect from 20 October 2000.

He joins the mine taking over from Werner Haymann who left the company after almost four years as the General Manager for Operations.

David hails from the United States of America and was the General Manager of Rio Tinto's Ridgeway gold mine. He has also been with Rio Tinto's Cordero coal mine in the USA.

He brings to Rössing a wide range of mining experience that includes the management of small private companies and large corporations. He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.

David says that, among other key focus areas, is his commitment to continue supporting the safe working practices of Rössing's employees. "I strongly believe that with the Company's continued emphasis on creating a safe working environment, employees can focus on the day-to-day operating challenges in the business."

David is joined by his wife, Roxanne, and in their spare time they are planning to go fishing and exploring the Namib.
