Rössing Uranium unveils 50th anniversary commemorative logo
Rössing Uranium unveiled the symbol for its 50th anniversary. Signalling the mark of a significant milestone for Namibia’s longest operating Uranium mine.
The moment represents more than the introduction of a commemorative symbol. It reflects 50 years of sustained effort, resilience, and progress in building a mining operation that has contributed significantly to Namibia’s mining industry, our economy, and our communities.
Rössing Uranium Managing Director Johan Coetzee touched on the impact of Rössing over the years. “Over the past five decades, Rössing has evolved and embraced innovation, strengthening our safety culture, and deepening our commitment to responsible and sustainable mining. This achievement is the result of the dedication of generations of employees, the support of our partners, and the trust of the communities in which we operate. To completely capture the impact of Rössing over the years is a tall order. The ripple effects of the lives impacted are immense’’ he said.
As part of the celebrations, Rössing will be releasing a documentary to that effect on our official birthday, which is 26 June. The aim of the documentary is to provide a consolidated look into Rössing’s impact and reach across Namibia, and across generations.
The official celebration day is 26 June 1976, the day which marked the birth of a legacy and story that transcends generations and time. Several celebratory events will be held for employees and stakeholders.
