This serves to advise all Rössing Uranium’s stakeholders and I&APs in the above project, that Namibia’s Ministry of Environment and Tourism has granted the Environmental Clearance for Rössing Uranium to proceed with components of their Mine Expansion Project that were addressed in the Phase 1 assessment.  These encompass the following:

  • A sulphuric acid manufacturing plant with associated sulphur storage on the mine, and the transport of sulphur from the Port of Walvis Bay;
  • A radiometric ore sorter plant; and
  • Mining of an ore body known as SK4.
